Soft Sensors Laboratory was founded in February 2018 by Dr. Özgür Atalay, Dr. Gökhan İnce and Dr. Aslı Atalay. The founding purpose of the laboratory is to develop wearable technology products using different knowledge such as electronic textiles, internet of things, and machine learning. The first product of the team is the lower limb motion monitoring system. This project was funded by the Scientific Research Project Unit of Istanbul Technical University.

Nowadays, this team works on “Textile based soft sensing actuators for soft robotic applications – TexRobots” Project which is funded by European Union under Horizon 2020 and “Fabric based Soft Actuators for Wearable Applications” Project which is Funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK)and Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF).
